THE DOYLE FAMILY STORY
The Doyle family has been in the logging business since 1957, making Doyle Forest Products, Inc. one of the oldest logging companies in all of Michigan and the Midwest.
The foundation of the company began as John Doyle’s senior class project for Future Farmers of America. John married the love of his life, Nancy May, in 1957 and soon realized he enjoyed what he was doing and thought this would be a great career for him, so he started a logging and bulldozing business. These were not easy times, but through his hard work ethic and dedication he was able to purchase mechanized equipment to make the job easier.
As his business grew, John became a leader in the local logging industry and was called upon by many equipment manufacturers who were looking for ways to improve their equipment. John and his wife, Nancy, invested in the latest technology when they could, always looking for the best way to get the job done.
This knowledge of equipment led John to form Doyle Equipment Co, a full-line forestry equipment dealership. The Doyle name became synonymous with quality logging production and equipment sales. This continued until 2010 when John retired from the logging and equipment business. He remained a consultant for Cater pillar Forest Products, Inc. until 2018.
TODAY
In 2010, John’s forestry assets were purchased by his son, Joe Doyle. Doyle Forest Products is presently owned and operated by Joe and his wife, Christine, and continuing the family tradition, Joe's son Jessie also works at the shop. No longer offering equipment sales, Joe is focused on Logging and is extremely proud to be President of the Association of Timbermen.
